take us out to the ball game!

As we are coming upon another big life change, adding Little Miss to the family, we want to try to be sure to do a few fun things this summer before our outings get put on hold for a little while...and while I can still move. I think those days are limited. We took the boys to the zoo the other day and I thought they were going to have to leave me with the elephants because I was so tired of all the walking and waddling too much. The joys of being pregnant. My energy level is dropping fast and the heat of the summer gets to me after a while, especially while trekking through the zoo. Apparently my body enjoys being pregnant at the very same time, during the entire summer, as Little Miss will be arriving at the same time of the year as her older brothers did.

After seeing me trudge through the zoo, we thought something a little less active would be a good idea for our next outing. We decided since the boys enjoyed their time at the Washington Redskins game a while back, we'd check out our local baseball team. We could all enjoy the outing and as a bonus, I didn't have to exert myself too much... at least that is what we thought when we planned to go last night.

We found a great parking spot about two blocks from the stadium and I thought, oh that's a breeze to walk... until I took a pretty bad spill, with one of the boys in my arms. I had to protect not only the boy in my arms, but the baby inside. The Hubs and I are both surprised nothing is broken with the way I landed! I have a lot of pulled muscles and scrapes, but that is nothing compared to what should have happened, especially with my track record. Mare + sidewalks = bad news.

The fun didn't end there though. Our seat was the magnet for foul balls, which would be great if we had had a baseball glove with us. One of the balls literally came right for us. I looked up as I heard everyone around us getting excited and saw the ball coming right . for . us. I quickly dove over the boys as to cover them from getting hit, and apparently the Hubs dove over me. We must have made quite the scene! The ball ended up hitting the chair right next to me! Honestly, I am surprised I didn't get hit. That's how things with me usually go! After that though, we were clear sailing to enjoy the game!

While they may not look like the boys were always having the greatest time, they were. They were paying very close attention and loved people watching, light watching, airplane watching, and of course, ball watching! They would see the ball as it was being hit and once they didn't know where it went, ask us, "Oh no! Where go ball?" It happened to be .50 cent hot dog night so they enjoyed their hotdogs very much, while Momma and Papi enjoyed the price!

The Hubs really enjoyed taking his little men to their first baseball game, and it is definitely on our to do list again very soon! With a growing family, and keeping to a budget, it is very nice to live in an area that allows for affordable family outings. The game had a nice mix of a crowd and was very family friendly which was also enjoyable for us. It allows for the Hubs and I do do fun things as a couple, yet comfortable to be able to bring the kiddos along too!

Will has quite the reactions to things sometimes. This is one of his faces when he'd see the ball!

Will has improved his selfie shots. ;)

We don't have many family shots, and when we do get them, they tend to look like this. Someone is usually either hot and sweaty looking, slightly disheveled, blinking, not looking at the camera or not smiling. I have dreams of the perfect family photos, and if you have some sort of a trick, please let me know because I'd be grateful for even one! Maybe one day I'll save up to have Megan or Paige take on that task! For now, you get to see us in complete total reality!
It was quite warm and the boys cheeks got nice and rosy and had funky hairdos by the time we left!

The stadium is set up inside with space to walk around, grassy areas, fun for the kids, etc. So it was nice to take a little walk to let the boys stretch their legs a bit.
Before I know it, the boys will be old enough to be in these batting cages themselves! For now, they enjoyed watching the big kids.
Gus made sure to take in every sight, not just what was in front of him and around his sides.

All three of our kids in one picture! (Not the little girl that photo bombed us)

Have you ever seen rocking chairs at a baseball stadium?! I had to just love this! Maybe it's southern thing.
One of the best feelings ever! A kiss from one of my sweet little men. When Will kisses me, it is not just a little peck. He takes my face in his hands and gives me a big kiss. It's quite adorable.

Our family outings have been fun and I am so grateful for these days. When I was pregnant with the boys I was on bed rest so much which was nice to relax, but with two little guys around this time, it's nice to have the ability to get out and about with them before their sister arrives!

What are little family fun activities y'all do with your kiddos?!

I'm still here....

If y'all thought I disappeared or something, I didn't. I'm still here. I guess one could say I somewhat disappeared, but not permanently. I haven't posted since December, and my goodness have I missed my quiet time sharing thoughts with you. I have a good reason though. Actually, a very good one! The Hubs, boys and I took our Christmas trip for 2 weeks and while we were away I found out Baby #3 is on it's way! And yes, this time it is only one, which was actually hard for me to wrap my mind and heart around at first. I'm used to the thought now, and although I am open and grateful for all the babies God sends us, I am glad it will be one baby this time around. With the two little men still needing the full attention of their Momma, one baby will be a lot easier to care for while balancing life with toddlers! Now, this is short and pretty boring, but I wanted to share my news, let you know I am still here, and tell you I am working on scheduling in regular blogging time again. I can't promise it will be all that interesting; foggy brain syndrome is back in full swing in this Momma. But I want to keep writing anyway! I'll be back real soon! Don't go away!

Life Lately

My life is filled with little bits of craziness. I don't have any lavish blog, wardrobe, career, or hobby, like a lot of lovely bloggers out there, but these little men make each bit of the craziness of my life lavish! Take a peek into our life, full of love and little adventures!

Gussy adores his brother. There are fights on occasion, but these two boys love each other.
The men of the house, big and little, are really into smoothies.
Mr. Sweetness, my little Gap Baby.
These three make my life complete and keep me laughing.
Sometimes Momma entertainment just doesn't cut it for these boys. And sometimes, Momma needs a break to get things done.
The most highly coveted toy in our home: the scoop. With it comes much entertainment and many fights.
Though our little men are naturally caffeinated, Will enjoyed his imaginary cafecito with his Papi on Saturday morning.
These needed a pick me up. They're not done yet, still need some embellishments, but gold is always better!
Love being his second shooter! We attempted a family photo on our own. The boys didn't know to look at the camera since we were both in the picture with them! We'll try again.
We made a trip to a local goat farm since we have little men in our home that are strictly goat milk boys.
I found my cotton fields. Not peak time, but it was still a joy to happen upon some!
 I love my little men!

There are very few pictures of the three of us. I am thankful for this candid one. I hope to get more with my little men soon… When we shoot our Christmas card photo.

 This makes me crave salads.
This little man loves to open the shades for me every morning. I love him. And I love that he knows to do this!
We have a hugh Taylor Swift fan in our house. Morning dance party to his favorite of her songs!
 And speaking of Taylor Swift….
A visit to the Hubs at work. Break time or hard at work? Hmmm…
This boy is filled with sweetness!
He's a thinker for sure. He makes this serious face and then a moment later bursts out in laughter. He knows exactly what he is doing.

Cozy morning breakfast with the fam!
I love this handsome guy. He keeps our life cool.

Getting prepped for 2014! Love the hint of gold foil!
Conversation with the Hubs… Me (after what feels like the 10th football game of the day): "Don't you ever get tired of watching football?" The Hubs: "Do you ever get tired of Hallmark movies?" Me: "Ah. Good point!" And from there I went back to my 3rd movie of the day.
Major perk of taking the Hubs car to physical therapy!
These two are not just brothers, but truly the best of friends.
 Mr. Sociable himself.

"Okay guys, which one of you is my favorite? Who ever gives me their cookie first wins! Go!" - jimmy

Secret Santas are out in the mail! My sister-in-law is always the one that arranges this and I offered to take it off her hands and give her a break from it this year. I was happy to help and happy to have fun being the elf this year!
This is the best eight dollars I've spent in forever!
They grow up way too fast.

Oh Will. He is always such a character.
This little man is forever smiling.

Another picture from our cotton field adventure!
Welcome back cuties! How I've missed you!
Hello sweetness. You brighten my day.
Skyping with their grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great uncle!
As if they aren't squish-able enough already.
Oh and this sweet boy. Though I get frustrated being the only one he will go outside with, he keeps a smile on my face. And he is a sweet companion and guardian for the boys.
While we are on the puppy pictures. We had to say goodbye to this sweet pup of 14 years, who was the Hubs co-worker. He greeted the Hubs each morning when he arrived and sat by his desk in the office. The Hubs is really going to miss this sweet boy. I had to make sure I had my last goodbye with him that morning.
Oh this sight. How lovely. Actually, though it wasn't the best appointment, I got great relief from it! And I graduate therapy tomorrow because of it! Woo hooo! Now only neck/back therapy for this Momma.
One more of one of the sweet boys I spend my days with!
And last, but not least, home.
If you are still with me after that load of pictures, thank you. I felt the need to catch up with ya'll.
Life with littles keeps me busy, busy, busy.
I want to craft, be artistic, make things, read, blog, the list goes on. But I seem to just end up wanting to plop down on the couch when I am out of work… which is really never. I just slack at that point.
I promise the next life lately post won't be so picture soaked!
